Characters Name: Hiyori Nishiyama.
Age: 16

Species: Human.
Gender: Female in mind and body.
Orientation: Going with heterosexual. It looks like she's only had a crush on one person before and that just happens to be the boy she just started dating.

Personality: Hiyori started off her high school career badly to say the least. She missed the first trimester because she well... Fell off her bike only to get hit by a truck. Which then caused her to roll down a hill leading to a ton of bone fractures. She was in the hospital for so long that even though she was already super shy, she got even more withdrawn and nervous and didn't want to go back to school. (Not that she really wanted to in the first place.) This is a big point of her personality. At the beginning of the series Hiyori is so shy that when she was about to be introduced to her class for the first time, she hid under the teacher's desk before any her classmates can could see her. As the series continues, she makes new friends and starts to feel more comfortable with herself. Then she has friends other than her best friend from kindergarten. Part of this is because she gets a crush on the boy who sits next to her. His popularity rubs off on her just from being nearby and they become friends. Where I'm taking her from, she has just confessed and he's asked her out, causing her to be walking on air pretty much.
The friends that she has gained recently are very important to her. Ri-chan will always hold a special place in her heart for being with her so long and being so close, but she's starting to open her heart up to others. One of the reasons they get along with her is that, even though she's always so nervous and cries easily, she has a kind heart. The fact that she's really polite helps too. Honestly she only really gets comfortable around people after she gets to know them. Until then she's a bit on edge at least.
When Hiyori wants to do something, she gets really dedicated. She tries to put in 100% if she really believes in what she's doing. Always trying her best is a great quality of hers. When she has free time she studies a lot to keep her grades up.
Scared of things like thrill rides, Hiyori even passed out on her first roller coaster ride. She doesn't even remember what happened. In general she's kind of a scaredy-cat.
She gets embarrassed easily. There is a chance she will run off and hide in a small space at moments like that. Being the center of attention can cause her to run off as well. Confrontation is also something she will run away from.
It takes a push and some encouragement to get her going, but if given what she thinks is good advice, she'll try to use it. Sometimes she'll give her own advice and if she feels it's important enough, she will try to push it if she knows you.
Towards the beginning of the series she is more depressed. Over time she cheers up. That's because she's making friends and starting to feel like she belongs. She feels weird being so short and doesn't like being mistaken for younger than she is, even though she doesn't usually bring it up. As she makes friends, Hiyori becomes happier, even wanting to go to school to see her crush (not to mention her friends).
She normally thinks the best of people. Sometimes she'll get so suspicious that she thinks the worst. Someone could be cruel to her and at that moment she'll be upset, but the good outweighs the bad it seems.
Another important thing is you could call her a crybaby. She is brought to tears very easily. It's not something she means to do though. It just happens.
To sum it up, Hiyori is an adorably tiny high school student who can easily be scared but is very sweet and trying to become braver one step at a time.

* Is normally called by a nickname, usually “Hiyorin” which was thought up by her new boyfriend soon after they first met.

[Just because she had read the papers didn't mean she understood what was going on. If anything Hiyori was even more confused. With the papers had been her cell phone. Seeing it was comforting but that didn't really last long. She had stopped crying only to start up again when she started going through the contacts to call home. Hiyori had no idea who any of these people were. Pulling herself together as much as she could she started a mass text.]
[The tears were starting to make it hard to see again so she pressed send. With a sniffle she curls up to make herself even smaller. Hopefully this wouldn't bother anyone.]
Third Person:
With a yawn Hiyori wakes trying to cover her mouth with her hand. The first thing she notices is the lack of blankets. The second thing was the sun shinning brightly even though her bedroom curtains should be closed. Thirdly was that Puipui her cat wasn't curled up next to her like she normally was. Stretching out she finally opens to see that she's outside. Standing up quickly doesn't really work. It leads to her tumbling into the grass face first with a yelp. Pushing herself up she looks around. This place didn't look like anywhere she knew. Feeling a weight in her pocket she noticed that she was still in her pajamas.
"Huh?"
Trying to push down the panic that was coming into her sleepy mind she pushed her hand into the pocket only to pull out keys she had never seen before. That wasn't what she had expected at all. Then again she wasn't sure what to expect. Slumping to her knees she clutches at the keys starting to cry. Yesterday had been a good day. What's going on now?
